And we couldn’t have called it.

It’s safe to say that Meghan Markle is the woman of the moment, and from fitting seamlessly into the life of a Duchess to welcoming her first child baby Archie last month, she has to be the most talked-about woman in the world.

Already proving to have as much influence as the Kate Middleton effect, fans and followers are modelling their looks on the Duchess of Sussex, crashing a Canadian fashion site to buy her engagement coat, styling their hair in the MM cut, and even asking cosmetic surgeons for the Meghan Markle nose.

In fact, it emerged this week that her influence is so strong that she has actually taken a title from Kate Middleton, overtaking her sister-in-law to become the most influential royal in terms of fashion.

Yes, Meghan’s seal of approval can now make pieces sell out in minutes and turn small businesses into internationally renowned brands, causing a 400% increase in traffic to Canadian jeweller Birks’ website just last year.

The two Duchesses are said to start different trends, but according to fashion search site Lyst, Meghan’s fashion looks cause the highest online demand.

According to the site, the Duchess of Cambridge’s looks cause on average a 119 percent increase in online demand following a public appearance, whereas the Duchess of Sussex causes an online demand of around 216 percent.

Congratulations Duchess of Sussex - the Meghan Markle effect is definitely alive and well.
