The actor reportedly isn't ready to head back to Los Angeles
Last week, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth announced they are going their separate ways after less than a year of marriage. ‘Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers,’ a representative for the 26-year-old singer confirmed.
Amid the breakup news, Miley Cyrus – who recently told ELLE that she is ‘still sexually attracted to women’ – was photographed kissing a woman on a yacht in Italy only days before she released a new song titled Slide Away, which seems to address her unexpected split from Killerman actor.
Meanwhile, Liam Hemsworth has been laying low in Australia, although he did briefly address the separation via Instagram. ‘This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false,’ he wrote.
The actor is apparently taking some time off to process the split from his long-time partner – the two had been dating on and off for ten years, after meeting on the set on The Last Song in 2009 – with sources reporting that he isn’t ready to head back to Los Angeles just yet.
‘He is not coming to LA for Killerman anymore even though he had told the film executives that he loved the movie and wanted to go full force into promoting it,’ an insider told the Daily Mail.
‘There was even a plan for Liam to appear on the late night talk shows to promote the film. Instead, he has been focusing on his personal life than promoting his film,’ the source added. ‘He is now not in the right head space to step back into the limelight to do any promotion as he knows Miley’s name will come up.’
