'He knows my dreams and I know his dreams, and together we feel like we're stronger.’

Jennifer Lopez is one of the most talked about women in the world, from her iconic red carpet looks and sassy remarks to her empowering career advice.

The 49-year-old has been making news recently however for her relationship with American baseball player Alex Rodriguez (A Rod), who she announced her engagement to this month.

The couple confirmed that they were engaged after two years together, with A-Rod posting a photo of J-Lo’s hand with a newly adorned sparkler of an engagement ring, captioning the snap: 'she said yes’.

While the world has been excitedly talking about the upcoming nuptials, with A-listers throwing their hats in the ring to be part of the bridal party, the newly engaged couple had been laying family low, that is until now.

‘We're really happy,’ Jennifer explained in an interview with People since their engagement. 'Everything that we do, we do together. He knows my dreams and I know his dreams, and together we feel like we're stronger.'

She continued: ‘We’re constantly supporting each other in our individual endeavours and thinking about all the things that we can build together.’

A-Rod certainly seemed to agree, adding: ‘We have [an] appreciation for where we are in our lives today, and that's what we're enjoying the most.’

Congratulations again to J-Lo and A-Rod!
