Jennifer Lawrence is officially engaged to Cooke Maroney

And we did not see that coming!!

And we did not see that coming!!

While 2018 was the year of babies, it looks like 2019 might just be the year of whirlwind engagements.

We’re barely a month into the year and already A-listers are popping the question.

First, Chris Pratt announced his engagement to Katherine Schwarzenegger after less than a year of dating, and now his Passengers co-star, Jennifer Lawrence, has announced her own engagement.

Yes, this is not a drill. Jennifer Lawrence is engaged, confirming the news this week.

The Academy Award winner was first reported to be dating New York art gallerist Cooke Maroney in June 2018, with the couple reportedly having kept their relationship of a few weeks on the down low.

According to Page Six, the couple were introduced by mutual friend (and J-Law’s BFF) Laura Simpson, who previously accompanied Lawrence to the Oscars as her date back in 2014.

‘The relationship has been going on a few weeks,’ a source told the outlet at the time. ‘They have been very private and careful not to be seen together.’

Eight months down the line however, a lot has changed, with the couple spotted on a night out in New York this week. The 28-year-old actress was reportedly wearing a ‘massive ring’ as they seemed to be celebrating on a date at French restaurant, Raoul’s.

‘They seemed like they were celebrating and people were talking about it,’ a source told the New York Post’s Page Six. ‘The ring was very noticeable. They were sitting back in a corner.’

A spokesperson for Jennifer has confirmed the news this week.

That is surely going to be one of the most A-list weddings ever!

Congratulations again to Jen and Cooke!
