Sex And The City’s Smith Jerrod has officially joined team SJP
‘If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all’
‘If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all’
While Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall’s tumultuous relationship has always been rumoured, things truly came to a head this month when Kim told SJP in a not so subtle way that the two Sex And The City co-stars were never and would never be friends.
And so started the Sex And The City war of 2018.
Ever since, the internet has been taking sides, splitting off into Team Kim and Team SJP camps - we haven’t seen division like this since the Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie divide of 2005.
The latest person to publicly pick sides was Jason Lewis, playing Kim Cattrall’s long-term SATC boyfriend Smith Jerrod - but no one was expecting his answer.
‘If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all,’ he told KTLA 5 this week, when asked about his thoughts on the feud. ’Listen, I would have to say that Sarah was always just so lovely and such a consummate professional, and I think that people should remember their graciousness and the things that have been given to them, and I’m going to stop there because I’ve got nothing good to say.’
When asked as a result if he was on Team SJP, the 46-year-old actor replied, ‘I might just have to say yeah. What a gracious lady - she was always so good to me.’

The feud between the two actresses came to a head after 61-year-old Kim chose not to return for a third SATC film, something she said SJP could have been nicer about, with the two seeming to cut ties.
However earlier this month when the actress announced that her 55-year-old brother who had gone missing had been found dead, SJP publicly got back in contact, posting ‘Dearest Kim, my love and condolences to you and yours and Godspeed to your beloved brother.’
Kim however didn’t seem impressed by her former co-star’s contact, taking to her Instagram to call out SJP directly.
‘My Mom asked me today “When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?”’ Kim posted to her Instagram. ‘Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now.’
She continued: ‘Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your “nice girl” persona.’
SJP has since responded, explaining to People Magazine, ‘I never talked about it, except that some of us were disappointed. But I never responded to the conversation Kim had with Piers Morgan, where she said things that were really hurtful about me.’
She continued: ‘We had this experience and it was amazing, and nothing will ever be like it. We had a connection with an audience, and we had a connection with the city and this crew, and we got to tell these crazy stories with each other. So I don’t want to mess with that. I couldn’t imagine anyone else playing that part. So there was no fight; it was completely fabricated, because I actually never responded.’
We wonder if Mr Big has an opinion about it...
