Did Beyoncé just reveal the sex of her twins?

It looks like it…

It looks like it…

Beyoncé and Jay Z announced that they were expecting twins in February, releasing a picture of the pregnant singer showing off her baby bump, wearing a net veil, to Instagram.

She captioned the snap: ‘We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. – The Carters’.

Since the announcement, the world has started speculating about the two celebrity babies – everything from who the future Carters’ godparents will be and what they will be called to the babies’ genders, with some believing that Bey’s choice of blue pants and a pink bra is a subtle hint that she’s expecting a boy and a girl.

It is her choice of jewellery, however, that has sparked speculation this week, with Beyoncé accessorising her look for her step dad’s birthday party with a pair of earrings that we’ve all seen before.

The singer teamed her black velvet minidress, boots and Gucci handbag with a pair of earrings that she wore in her 2008 music video, If I Were A Boy, leading people to believe that she is in fact expecting twin boys.

According to online fans, Beyoncé’s jewellery could also be hiding cryptic messages about when the future Carters will be arriving. She has recently been wearing a lot of emeralds, the birthstone for May, leading people to predict the summer month as Beyonce’s due date.

People are also taking her preference for green jewels as a hint for baby names, with Jade and Emerald emerging as the two strongest contenders on online polls for what Bey will call her children.

Of course it could just mean that Beyoncé likes emeralds and is particularly fond of those earrings – only time will tell.
