Congratulations again to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their first child together this week, announcing on their Sussex Royal Instagram page that the royal baby had officially arrived and that it was a boy.

‘We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz,’ the couple announced.

Meghan chose not to pose for photos immediately after birth, like Kate Middleton and Princess Diana before her, with Prince Harry instead coming outside to make an on-camera statement.

‘I’m very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy this morning, a very healthy boy,’ Prince Harry announced to the media. ‘Mother and baby are doing incredibly well. It has been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined. How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension.’

‘We will be seeing you guys in two days time as planned to everybody can see the baby. I haven’t been in many births, this is definitely my first birth. I am so incredibly proud of my wife. As every father and parent would say, your baby is absolutely amazing,’ he went on to explain before saying, ‘this little thing is absolutely to die for – I am over the moon.’

Then as promised, today the couple stepped outside together, with Baby Sussex to pose for photographs - and they make a beautiful family.

Congratulations again to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex!
