Chanel’s Les Beiges collection is everything you’d hope for
The collection that celebrates natural beauty is back
The collection that celebrates natural beauty is back
What is it about Chanel that sends the most sane person into such a tizz? Those two little Cs do something to a person. I'm no different. As soon as that black paper bag with white lettering lands on my desk, I'm drunk with excitement.
And that's exactly what happened last week when Chanel's latest launch arrived. The postman had barely set it down, before I was ripping into it. Very neatly I'm hasten to add. Literally ripping a Chanel bag would be madness.
Inside was the 2018 Les Beiges collection and it's every bit as chic and heavenly as you could imagine. If you don't know what Les Beiges is, it's a makeup collection, from base products to lipsticks, that celebrates natural beauty. You won't find any crazy-ass eye shadow colours or weird textures, only those that compliment the natural shades of your own complexion. This year's collection is all about that 'Healthy Glow' that we all strive for.
We can't all afford Chanel couture, but there are easier ways to wear the designer - their make-up collection.
Let's take a closer look...
THE LIP BALM
Les Beiges Healthy Glow Lip Balm, £31 Selfridges
Come summer, it's natural to reach for a nourishing lip balm over a thick, cloying lipstick. And who wouldn't want to that lip balm to be Chanel?! Not only does this one hydrate and plump lips, it also gives them a subtle wash of colour.

THE BLUSHER
Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Stick, £31.50 John Lewis
Remember this: creamy textures mimic the skin much better than powders. So if you want to fake a healthy, perky, natural glow then products like this work wonders. Don't be scared of the colour - pop a few little dots onto the apples of the cheeks and use your fingers to blend. It's one of the best cream blushers we've tried in a while.

THE EYE SHADOW PALETTE
Les Beiges Healthy Glow Natural Eyeshadow Palette, £45 Feelunique
Not a garish shade in sight. Hooray! The best thing about this palette is that if you're a nervy eye shadow wearer, then you can use each one separately, but if you find the courage to experiment it won't matter if you bugger it up. The colours work seamlessly together and actually work best when blended.

THE TINTED MOISTURISER
Les Beiges SPF30 Healthy Glow Tinted Moisturiser, £33.30 Debenhams
Good god this is a beautiful product. It's a sheer formula, which is good because no one really wants a thick heavy base when you're sweating like a pig on the tube. It also means that your skin's natural texture can be seen. The elusive no make-up make-up look just got easier.
