One Direction to launch debut perfume

EXCLUSIVE! One Direction are to release a perfume that will hit shelves next summer

One Direction are to release their very first fragrance next summer, joining the dizzy (and perfumed) heights of the likes of Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and Rihanna, to name a few.

Marie Claire can exclusively reveal that the British boy band are to put their names to a new scent for women that will feature floral notes and be suitably sweet for their predominantly teenage fanbase.

A source close to the band told us: ‘One Direction are working on releasing a scent, it’s all super secret right now.’

Despite details of the fragrance being all very hush-hush, our source has teased us with a few of the finer details adding: ‘It’s going to be a sweet scent, definitely floral too.

‘There will only be one box based on the short production time, so there won’t be different options as there are with the JLS version. ‘All other details are under lock and key, but it’s due on shelves July 2013.’

ONE DIRECTION MAKE £100 MILLION IN TWO YEARS

The One Direction fragrance will add to Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Niall Horan’s growing endorsement empire.

The band have already earned £100 million in their first two years, heavily contributed to via sponsorship deals with Nokia phones, Pokemon games and Hasbro toys.

And the boys’ branching out into the beauty world will certainly be adding to this huge figure. Watch One Direction at the MTV VMAs
