By Diana Gavrilina - Tuesday 12 June 2012

Cheryl Cole has announced her very first solo arena tour, confirming she'll play nine tour dates across the UK as part of the A Million Lights event, starting off in Belfast this October.

The singer, whose new single Call My Name went straight to number one after it was released on iTunes earlier this week, has faced some harsh criticism after recent performances at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert and on the The Voice.

But stoic Cheryl shook them off, instead announcing her first arena tour of the UK and Ireland, where she confirmed she'll sing every track live.

The news was released on Cheryl's official website this morning with a statement with read: 'The news you've all been waiting to hear! Cheryl has just announced her first solo nationwide arena tour, with dates up and down the UK and Ireland this October.'

The former Girls Aloud singer has had a chance to try out some of her new material at Capital FM Summertime Ball last weekend which was met by cheers of approval from her adoring fans.

Cheryl will kick off her tour in Belfast on October 3, stopping at eight venues including London and Nottingham, before finishing in her hometown of Newcastle on October 17.

The tour will feature songs from all her three solo albums, 3 Words, Messy Little Raindrops and her latest, A Million Lights, with tickets set to go on sale at 9am on Friday.
