Spice Girls tour a sell-out in just 38 seconds

THE SPICE GIRLS proved today that they've still got Girl Power – by selling out the London leg of their tour in a lightening-fast 38 seconds.

Over a million registered fans were notified by email and text that sales had begun, causing a mad rush for tickets.

'It was a dramatic moment - the sales went live and there was a huge surge as fans bombarded lines,' said Ticketmaster boss, Chris Edmonds.

The 02 Arena show on 15 December was to be the only performance in England but, after enormous demand, organizers have announced three further UK concert dates on the 16 and 18 December and 2 January.

Cash-hungry fans have wasted no time in putting the sought-after tickets on eBay, where prices have already reached £900.

The re-formed band will kick-off the global tour on 2 December in Canada, and make stops at Sydney, Cape Town and Shanghai.

The concerts will be the first time the stars have performed together since Geri Halliwell left in 1998 because of 'differences'. (2 October 2007)
