Kate Moss Rimmel adverts banned after digitally enhancing eye-lashes
A RIMMEL MASCARA advert featuring Kate Moss has been banned for using digitally enhanced eye-lashes. The television ads for Magnif eyes mascara have been criticised by the Advertising Standards Authority for misleading viewers, after enhancing Moss’s lashes and claiming the mascara created ‘70% more lash lift.’
The ban comes just a few months after L’Oréal was revealed to have used fake eyelashes for an advert starring Penelope Cruz. Although Rimmel denied using fake lashes on Moss, they could not provide evidence that her eyelashes had not been digitally lengthened.
The advertisements have been banned from being repeated, and Rimmel will have to include disclaimers in future mascara campaigns.
