The show: Michael Kors
The location: Bryant Park
The soundtrack: The Beach Boys
The front row: Heidi Klum, Blake Lively and Bette Midler
The inspiration: 'Triple A: Architectural, Athletic and American.'
The trends: Polka dots, gingham and stripes; monochrome black and white prints; linen, cropped jackets; a plethora of belts; cropped trousers; and – yes, I know you've heard it before – yet more jumpsuits.
What Marie Claire Editor Marie O'Riordan thought: This was a classic Kors moment. He designs to his own tune - always reflecting fashion, while not exactly trendsetting. He has only one uptown Hampton woman in mind when he creates his collections and she loves cashmere, fur and all things luxurious, with a capital Lux. A lovely palette of rich browns, oatmeal and coffees coloured the collection, mixed with tweeds and azure blue. Meanwhile, the soundtrack was wild - a funky mix of The Sound of Music's goatherd track, with lots and lots of odelays.
