Chocolate, pear and apple crumble

A deliciously naughty fruit dessert from The Boar's Head Inn


• 1 large cooking apple
• 4 pears
• 250g dark chocolate
• 250g sugar
• 100g butter
• 200g sugar
• 200g plain flour
• 200g porridge oats


1) Peel and core the apple and pears
2) Cut up and place in a pan with sugar and a little water
3) Place on a medium heat, stirring occasionally until the apples have completely cooked
4) Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate
5) Rub the sugar and the butter together
6) After doing this rub in flour and porridge oats
7) Cover the compote with the crumble
8) Mix and place in the oven at 180C, leave until the crumble is golden brown
