And we are so excited
With the huge success of Cinderella, The Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast, there seems to be quite a few Disney live action remake films in the making, all boasting an exciting cast of A-list stars.
Emma Stone is tipped to play Cruella De Vil in 2018’s Cruella, Emily Blunt has already started filming for Mary Poppins Returns, and now apparently even Beyoncé might be getting involved, lined up to star in the live action remake of The Lion King.
It is reported that Disney have approached the singer for the role of Nala, but Beyoncé is still said to be making her mind up.
The live action remake is set to be a sure-fire box office hit, with Donald Glover already cast as the role of Simba and Jon Favreau, the director behind the remake of The Jungle Book, is already on board. To make it extra special, James Earl Jones, the voice of Mufasa in the original 1994 Disney film, will be reprising his role. Adding Beyoncé to that already great list would almost be too much.
Bey is still said to be considering the role, but having announced her pregnancy just two months ago, and consequently cancelling her appearance at Coachella, she might choose to take a break from work to spend some quality time with the family.
No offence to Jay Z, Blue Ivy and her future twins that we’re all dying to know the names of, but the prospect of Beyoncé as Nala isn’t one that we’re going to let go of any time soon, and we’ve got our fingers tightly crossed.
