Want your skin to look it’s absolute best? Never commit these skincare faux pas. Ever. Again.
You’ve seen them. The girls who have such flawless complexions, they almost look air bushed. The girls who look like they’ve never had skin woes in their lives. The girls who know how to look after their skin.
It’s seems almost unattainable… unless you know their secrets.
Want your skin to look it’s absolute best? Never do these things. Ever. Again.
‘I never use hot water on my face, because it strips your skin of all its natural oils, which can lead to dryness, so I only ever use warm water.’
‘My skin is quite balanced, so I don’t wash it every day. Sometimes micellar water is enough. I don’t believe in always washing off the natural oils in your skin.’
‘I never use anything abrasive to exfoliate. If I use a wash cloth, it has to be a muslin, because it’s a lot softer than regular cotton wash cloths and I don’t exfoliate with anything that has beads in it. They not only create tiny tear sin your skin, which can lead to break outs, but if they’re synthetic, they harm the environment.’
‘I never sleep with makeup on – unless I’m on a plane and there’s paparazzi when I land. No, but seriously, sleeping with make-up on is a no.’
‘I just decided that I’m never getting a facial again. My skin just doesn’t do well with them. They make you break out and I just can’t deal.’
‘I limit my skincare products. If I use too many it makes me break out, so I keep my skin routine really simple – like cleanser, toner and only occasionally moisturizer. If my skin doesn’t feel like it needs moisturizer, I won’t put it on.’
‘ I take supplements because just applying a topical treatment only treats the superficial layer or the epidermis area of the skin. For longer lasting and more effective results you want to treat the dermi and hypodermis and this is best done internally.’
‘ I always make sure I have alkalising greens in my diet. balance the acidity in your skin and the alkalinity in your blood. And when that balance is achieved, your skin holds moisture and your cells function properly, giving you that radiant glow.’
‘I never use face wipes. Even if I’m at a festival, I will always thoroughly cleanse my face.’
‘I don’t exfoliate my skin very often. When you over exfoliate, you strip your skin of its natural oils, so I try to keep this at a minimum and only exfoliate when my skin feels dry or looks dull.’
‘I never pack on foundation. Ever.’
