Beyonce nabs Cheryl's X Factor dress for MTV Europe Music Awards
It’s been a good week for Brit designer David Koma!
First, his metal-piped black dress was the talk of the weekend, dividing opinions left, right and centre as Cheryl Cole hit Saturday night’s X Factor in the daring design.
Teamed with over-the-knee boots, Mrs C’s choice was a far cry from her favoured floor-skimming gowns, and quickly prompted a barrage of debate.
But a certain A-lister was clearly impressed, and last night at the MTV Europe Music Awards, none other than Beyoncé Knowles chose one of Koma’s dresses to collect a coveted gong.
A slight variation on Cheryl’s, the custom-made design did not feature the choker neckline, but had the same rings of metal tubes, and structural form-enhancing cut.
Giving the designer’s signature style her own distinct spin, the superstar left her famous mane curly and loose, and added a slick of ruby red lipstick. In comparison, Cheryl opted for a chic updo, glowing natural make-up and hoop earrings.
OK, so they might be slightly different dresses, but it scrapes in as a style snap in our books! Who do you think worked Koma’s dress best? Let us know your verdict in the comments box below.
