One of LFW's hottest tickets, the Topshop Unique show took over London's Westminster this afternoon with a collection that was all about real-girl styling hacks. Wondering what's the coolest way to re-work your trusty blazer for the season ahead, or just how much jewellery will be too much jewellery come SS16? This is the girl to consult.
These are the key moments you need to know about from the show today... The Star Model Casting Bella Hadid, Malaika Firth, Sam Rollinson, Binx Walton… The Unique model line-up read like a who’s who of the industry’s coolest new girls. The Packed Front Row Alexa Chung, Poppy Delevingne, Cressida Bonas and Ciara were the big names on the front row, out to see what the high street’s hottest would be offering up for the season ahead. Topshop alumni Jourdan Dunn is now famous enough to sit on the other side of the proverbial catwalk fence, coming along to enjoy the show and keep an eye on the modelling world’s new faces. The Ladylike Luxe Collection Topshop Unique’s teenage dream girl has grown up (just a little bit) for the season ahead. She’s more polished and put together than ever before – think belted tuxedo jackets over her flippy fluid dresses and pointy slingback heels with every single look - but she's still got some kooky-cool styling tricks up her sleeve. We loved the playful pairings of scarlet fluff and leopard print, plus the knitted golfer vests over chiffon midi dresses.
The Up-Close Embellishment We went fashion forensic backstage before the show started, getting up close and personal with the new collection before anyone else. Our favourite spots? Tell us that this isn’t just the dream SS16 garden soiree gown?
The High-Shine Eyes ‘The concept is rebellious pretty,’ Hannah Murray, creative director of Topshop makeup told us before the show. ‘We’ve got a glowing moon pink on the eyelids and our new super sheer foundation on the skin for a light fresh base. Then to top it off is this bold red lip.’
