Chanel’s annual Metiers d’Art shows have become something of fashion legend. Renowned for spectacular collections in equally as jaw-dropping locations with a very limited selection of prestigious guests, it’s a not-to-be- missed show which is always shrouded in mystery until the big reveal.

So it is with great pleasure that we can finally unveil the Paris-Salzburg 2014/15 collection. Shown in an 18th Century rococo castle in Austria, acclaimed for its romantic architecture and view of lake Leopoldskroner Weiher, the show was as elaborate as the location demanded.

With Stella Tennant, Lara Stone and Lindsey Wixson all walking, and Sam McKnight on hair duties it was a suitably spendid affair.

In a rich palette of white red, navy and black mixed with alpine hues, the collection was a tactile dream, mixing extensive feather work with leather, cashmere, lace and tweed. Giving a contemporary twist to Tyrolean style and Austrian tradition, Karl Lagerfeld has played with the idea of dirndls, lederhosen and other elements such as structured evening dresses with bibs, frills, pleats and wide sleeves.

But let’s face it, the only thing we’re really after here is some up-close action shots. Click through the gallery above to see the all the catwalk looks as well as backstage highlights complete with Cara Delevenigne, Kendall Jenner, and a rather spectacular setting…
