The fashion world remembers Prince

Our Instagram feeds are a sea of purple, album covers and legendary style moments – and rightly so. The world is still reeling from the news that Prince has died aged 57 at his home in Minneapolis, but his legend is being remembered today by many of his contemporaries.

Daring, brave and iconoclastic, the images flooding social media are as inspiring as they are nostalgic. Amongst the lyrics and dedications, the fashion world has shared their appreciation of his unique style, ground-breaking ideas and rule-breaking attitude. But what really caught our attention has been the fash-pack’s personal messages, anecdotes, flashback images and touching words dedicated to the star.

From Inez and Vinoodh’s #tbt snaps of the time they spent eight magical hours photographing the star in Vegas right through to Katie Hillier’s moving words and Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci’s rare archive snap, Prince has been fully embraced and touchingly remembered via the fash-pack Instagram accounts.

Donatella Versace tapped the singer to perform at the fete for Versace's H&M collaboration, dubbing him a “genius” and remarking at the time that “[you] need to see Prince live to really understand how remarkable he is.” She was only one of dozens of fashion figures to pay tribute to the late icon.
