Asda brings Balmain style to the high street
The A-list's ultimate style crush this season, Balmain has scored multiple fashion hits for the likes of Kate Moss, Beyonce, Rihanna and Kylie, who love the label for both for its edgy take on casual chic, as well as its high octane dresses.
But now, thanks to Asda, the designer's signature sculptural style doesn’t have to be the reserve of the stars. Of course, where celebrities lead, the high street follows, and the supermarket giant has jumped on the Balmain bandwagon to produce a strikingly familiar bold-shouldered dress.
The thigh-skimming mini instantly reminded us of a silver futuristic frock from the design house's autumn/winter '09 collection, modelled by la Moss herself, as she stepped out for a night in London.
The shoulders might not be as sculptural, and the silver not quite as shimmering, but while Balmain's version features a four-figure price tag, Asda's limited-edition design will sell for just £16 when it goes on sale today. We predict a style stampede!
