The designer talks about her ‘system of dressing‘, and the ‘seven easy pieces‘ that make up that most iconic of Donna Karan clothing – from the body-sculpting skirt, to the wraparound jacket, and the floor-sweeping organza gown.
For Spring? She’s fused her usual system of staple pieces with her love of nature and the elements.
‘Spring for me was about being out in the atmosphere, the places I love most,’ says Donna.
‘I’m out at the beach, looking at the sky, the water, the clouds, the sands, the rocks – thinking, what could be more beautiful than this?‘
‘I wanted to incorporate that loving passion that I have for nature and put it into the fabrics, and the woman.’
