The French First Lady stepped out in an elegant jade gown by the French designer for a state dinner in Paris
Just how does she do it? Time and time again, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy manages to floor us with some seriously chic sartorial selections – and she’s done it again.
The original First Lady of fashion – before Michelle Obama swept in and stole her crown – Carla arrived for a state dinner at the Elysee Palace in Paris wearing this scene-stealing floor-length gown.

And naturally, she was flying the flag for French designers, in this RM by Roland Mouret creation.
A consistent champion of the lower heel height – to prevent towering over diminutive husband Nicolas Sarkozy – the statuesque former-model teamed her jade gown with blue satin Christian Louboutin kitten heels.
The state dinner was being held in honour of Dmitry Medvedev, the Russian President, and his wife Svetlana – who were on a three-day visit to France.
But of course, we find it only fitting that this ultra-stylish look came at the same time that Paris Fashion week kicks off in the French capital.
We wonder if Mrs Bruni-Sarkozy will be sat front row at any shows?
