Jameela Jamil wearing jeans under her ballgown is all of us

ICYMI Jameela Jamil was one of many celebrities to walk the Golden Globes red carpet on Sunday evening, and she gave us an insightful behind-the-scenes look on Twitter and Instagram (also check out the hilarious name mix-up she was involved in).

This included all the prep that went into her look, which was a stunning coral chiffon strapless gown by Monique Lhuillier.

What you couldn't see, and what Jameela kindly pointed out to her followers, was that she wore jeans under it, because 'I refuse to be cold for fashion' (it was probably around 15 degrees in the evening in LA, not as cold as here but not exactly hot either).

I don't blame her one bit, I practically live in my Uniqlo thermals, so it's nice to see the celebs are just like the rest of us and that it's not all glossy in La La Land. She joins the likes of Kristen Bell and Alison Brie who shared their prep, spanx and all.

It reminds me of when Kristen Stewart broke the rules at Cannes by wearing trainers instead of heels. More of this please.

Penny Goldstone

Penny Goldstone is the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire, covering everything from catwalk trends to royal fashion and the latest high street and Instagram must-haves.

Penny grew up in France and studied languages and law at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris before moving to the UK for her MA in multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University. She moved to the UK permanently and has never looked back (though she does go back regularly to stock up on cheese and wine).

Although she's always loved fashion - she used to create scrapbooks of her favourite trends and looks, including Sienna Miller and Kate Moss' boho phase - her first job was at MoneySavingExpert.com, sourcing the best deals for everything from restaurants to designer sales.

However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.

Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
