How You Fasten Your Bra Says A Lot About You

Are you a driver or an influencer?

Are you a driver or an influencer?

Are you all about full frontal or do you prefer it from behind?

No, get your mind out of the gutter (or not, who are we to judge) we’re actually talking about how you put on your bra.

We always thought there were two ways to do it – reaching behind you or clipping it at the front and swivelling it round the right way.

After taking a straw poll around the office, a whopping 75 per cent of Marie Claire staff surveyed said they are fans of the front fastening then twisting method, which this writer finds both perplexing and quite frankly absurd.

Turns out there are actually four methods and which one you choose says a lot about you, according to body language and human behaviour expert Patti Wood.

"Everything you do - and the way you do it - comes together to form a story about yourself, and there's no reason your undergarments shouldn't be a part of that," Wood told RedBook.

So what does your bra technique say about you?

Back-fasteners are SUPPORTIVE – Your mum probably taught you how to put on your first bra this way and you’ve stuck to it. You love being around people and making friends but you fear change.

Front-fasten-and-swivelers are INFLUENCERS – You are a lady who takes a lot of pride in her appearance and, as such, likes to be noticed and appreciated.

Buyers of front-clasping bras are DRIVERS – Life is too damn short to faff about with bra fastenings, a fact you know only too well. You’re an efficient boss who does not suffer fools gladly.

Pre-fasteners are CAREFUL CORRECTORS – We’re talking to you, women who fasten their bra each morning before putting it on like a top. When you do something, you make sure it is done right and tend to shy away from the limelight.
