The Oscar-nominated actress is unveiled as the new face of Marc Jacobs
Fashion designer Marc Jacobs has a surprising new muse: Helena Bonham Carter.
Pictures leaked on the web show the eccentric British actress in a series of poses for the designer's autumn/winter 2011 advertising campaign.
The images - shot by photographer Juergen Teller - show the multi-Oscar-nominated star wearing a shell pink, sequinned dress from the brand’s latest collection, as well as polka dot tights, patent heels and a small vinyl beret with a chunky chin strap.
She follows in the stylish footsteps of pop star-turned-fashion designer Victoria Beckham and film director Sofia Coppola as the poster girl for the brand.
In what appears to be an inspired, but nevertheless surprise, choice at first, HBC’s fashion stock has risen considerably in recent months. While her wacky sense of style isn’t to everyone’s taste, Vanity Fair magazine placed her in their best-dressed list last year and many have come to treasure her quintessentially British eccentricity.
As for the campaign pictures? Personally, we love them. Helena Bonham Carter, we salute you.
