Amanda Wakeley buys back her own label
Amanda Wakeley has bought back her eponymous label, following her shock resignation from the brand in December last year.
Making the announcement via a press release, Wakeley commented, 'I am delighted to be back in charge of the Amanda Wakeley Sposa business and to own all intellectual property relating to my name. After 18 years in the industry we have exciting plans for the future.'
The celebrated British designer shocked the fashion industry when she announced her resignation from her own line last year, after it was bought out by restructuring specialists Arvoco.
Now, Wakeley has regained the rights to all Amanda Wakeley lines, which she established back in 1990, and quickly became a red carpet favourite amongst glamorous stars such as Demi Moore, Kate Beckinsale and Scarlett Johansson.
Jason Granite, chief executive of Arvoco, commented to Drapers, 'This is a very positive outcome for the Amanda Wakeley businesses, for the customers, suppliers and stakeholders.'
