Victoria Beckham’s Spice Girl pal Melanie C reveals the ‘negative side’ to her fame

Victoria Beckham’s wardrobe, career and family are all things many of us aspire to have, although the fame side of things may not be as appealing especially after her friend and former Spice Girls band mate, Melanie Chisholm reveals the real cost of the designer’s fame.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Mel C opened up about the amount of attention Victoria Beckham gets when she goes out and how hard that can be to cope with. The former Sporty Spice said: ‘I really feel for Victoria actually, because you can see whenever we meet up, she walks into a room and all eyes are on her. That’s a huge pressure.’

But it’s one she appears to manage very well. Despite this Melanie is still sympathetic towards her friend adding: ‘I see it all the time, the endless public fascination with them [the Beckhams]. ‘I think you make the decision quite early on to really nurture your profile and your relationship with the media.

‘But the thing is, once you’ve done that it is done, and you can’t turn back.’

Not that Victoria Beckham would regret any decision she’s made after all they’ve lead her to being one of the most famous faces in fashion. And again, that’s something Melanie, and the rest of the Spice Girls can’t help but join us in admiring.

She adds: ‘The rules of the Spice Girls are that we do really respect each other, and that’s all part of it. ‘To have come from a pop group to be respected in the fashion world – we have so much respect for her [Victoria] for doing that, and she’s worked bloody hard to get there.’
