  • After yesterday’s shock split announcement, Tony Parker has opened up on his ‘difficult’ divorce from wife Eva.

As rumours continue to circle, basketball player Tony Parker has opened up on his ‘difficult’ split from Eva Longoria, and how he knew she was filing for divorce.

Despite denying rumours of a rift just days earlier, the pair revealed they were to end their four-year marriage in a shock announcement yesterday.

Tony released a statement which read: It is with great sadness that after 7 years together, Eva and I have decided to divorce. We love each other deeply and pray for each other’s happiness,’ but has remained tight lipped until now.

Now, amid rumours of an affair with former team-mate Brent Barry’s wife, the NBA star has opened up on the couple’s difficult’ divorce.

‘This is a difficult time right now for me and Eva,’ he told reporters. ‘I’m getting great support from team-mates and coaches. Right now, I just want to concentrate 100 percent on winning basketball games with the Spurs.’

Admitting he knew his wife would be filing the legal papers, he said: ‘Eva and I have been discussing our situation privately. I was aware that she would be filing for divorce in Los Angeles.’

‘I did not file for divorce in Texas and did not hire divorce attorneys in either Texas or California.’

Yesterday, Eva was said to be ‘devastated’ by the separation.

‘Eva wants everyone to know she’s devastated by the rumours of Tony’s infidelity,’ her pal Mario Lopez revealed.

‘She loved her husband and is heartbroken about their split… but she’s strong.’
