Tom Cruise may be away from his family filming his latest thriller in the UK, but the actor will soon be happily reunited with his children as he reveals plans to spend Christmas with Suri, Connor and Bella.

The actor opened up to reporters for the first time since his split from Katie Holmes in June at the premiere of his latest film, Jack Reacher, in London, where he looked handsome in dark blue jeans, a blue jumper, printed shirt, suede jacket and black leather boots.

According to People magazine, Cruise spoke to reporters about his Christmas plans, which involve a happy family reunion with his children: 'We have got lots of very special things planned [for the holidays],' he said, adding that he planned to spend the Christmas period with children Bella, 20, Connor, 17, and Suri, six.

'We are all going to be together. I am looking forward to it.'

The actor, who has been based in the UK since August filming his thriller All You Need Is Kill, flew Suri over to celebrate Thanksgiving with him in November last month, while mum Katie Holmes headed to her hometown in Ohio for the family-centric festivities.

While the actor undoubtedly misses family time with the kids, he told reporters that he feels at home in the UK.

'I love it here. I have made so many films here and I have worked with so many of the actors here. It is a wonderful place to live.

'I am shooting a film over here… seven days a week. But I feel great. It doesn't take up all my time, but I have a very busy schedule and I like it that way.' WATCH: Tom Cruise at the Jack Reacher premiere:
