The Saturdays finally clinch their first number one single, and celebrate with a night out in London with JLS.

The girl band’s new single ‘What About Us’ has become their first ever chart-topping song in the UK, since they released their very first single back in 2008.

Not only has the track, featuring Sean Paul, managed to go where their previous 11 Top Ten hits all failed to go, it has also stormed the charts and become the fastest selling single of the year.

The Saturdays – Rochelle Humes, Mollie King, Una Healy, Vanessa White and Frankie Sandford – who have knocked Justin Timberlake off the top spot after three weeks with ‘Mirrors’, told The Official Charts Company: ‘We couldn’t be more thrilled to be the UK’s official new number one with ‘What About Us’.

‘Thanks to everyone who has supported us and the single. We love you all. This is your number one too!’

The girls also took to twitter to share their thanks, with Una tweeting: ‘Thank you SO MUCH to everybody who bought our single and got us to Number 1 in the official UK chart, we are so happy:) xxxx”

As did expectant mum Rochelle who wrote: ‘Omg. You guys have made this all possible. I cannot believe that we are the official number 1. For once I’m speechless. We did it guys :-). Not only have you guys got us to number 1 but we now have the fastest selling single of the year…ahhhhh I cant breathe xx :-)’

Vanessa also showed her happiness saying: ‘Thank you SOOO much to everyone who bought #WhatAboutUs – we are SO happy 🙂 WE DID IT!!!!”

To celebrate reaching the top spot, the girls enjoyed dinner at Zuma restaurant then they were joined by JLS and Mylene Klass at Amika nightclub in London.
