Shane Warne and Liz Hurley have both confirmed their respective marriages have ended, after rumours emerge

Shane Warne has announced he has split from wife Simone, just days after pictures emerged of him kissing Liz Hurley outside a London restaurant earlier this month.

Confirming the news via a statement on his official website, the cricket star stated: 'Sadly and unfortunately, Simone and I split up a while ago, our close friends and family were informed at that time.

'It is a private matter so we did not make it public. We remain friends and will continue to be good parents' he concluded, referring to their three children.

The news came just a day after Hurley also confirmed that her marriage to tycoon Arun Nayer had ended.

The British beauty took to her Twitter page, revealing she and her husband split some months ago. ‘Not a great day,’ Liz Tweeted. ‘For the record, my husband Arun & I separated a few months ago. Our close family & friends were aware of this.’

The News of the World published the pics that started the scandal, which showed the rumoured couple kissing after reportedly spending nights together at Warne's London hotel.
