If the rumours are true, and some people (read: most people) are hoping they're not, Eva Mendes is expecting Ryan Gosling's baby.

We don't know if you've heard, but rumour has it Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are expecting their first child together.

People magazine over in the US have apparently confirmed it with a friend of Eva's (a friend who's probably being deleted off the Christmas card list as we type).

As you might expect, fans, wannabe lovers and downright crazed stalkers of Ryan have not taken the news well - Twitter pretty much went into meltdown. But let's all pull ourselves together, shall we?

While, most of us probably all harboured a secret hope that one day our paths would cross with Gosling and he'd fall madly, deeply in love with us (hey girl, it could happen), it's not all that likely. Is it?

So, let's cheer for Eva Mendes. The woman is to be admired; she's talented, beautiful, strong, independent and about to produce a human being with RYAN GOSLING. All in all, she's a class act.
