Robert Pattinson 'dreading' showdown with Kristen Stewart

Poor R-Patz is reportedly 'dreading' hitting the Twilight promotional tour in November - but will he play nice with K-Stew?

Robert Pattinson's been doing his best to avoid Kristen Stewart since news of her affair with Rupert Sanders broke last week - and now it's been revealed he's 'dreading' a face off with the actress during their Twilight promotional tour.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are due to hit red carpets around the world in October, on a multi-million dollar publicity trail to promote final Twilight movie, Breaking Dawn - Part 2.

But after Kristen Stewart was photographed in the arms of Snow White director Rupert Sanders, its seeming less and less likely the couple will every pose together on the red carpet again.

According to insiders, Robert Pattinson is 'dreading' having to hit the road on the gruelling tour with Kristen, which will involve endless TV and red carpet interviews, not to mention posing together in photos.

But while his relationship with Kristen Stewart hangs in the balance, his twilight promotional duties are thought to be written firmly into his contract.

'He is in pieces but the Twilight love triangle storyline is nothing without him and Kristen,' one source told Perez Hilton.

'It is eating him up that he has no choice but to see her again because of work. His humiliation is total.'

Meanwhile, insiders report bosses Summit Entertainment have gone into meltdown behind the scenes, worried that Rob and Kristen's break-up will affect the promotion of the film, and even the movie's takings.

'There’s serious concern about the promotional tour, which is set to kick off in October,' the source added.

'This is a potential nightmare for all involved. Fans look forward to seeing them together during interviews. It’s great publicity for the film.

'Robert even used to be happy to go to events with Kristen that he wasn’t contractually obligated to go to, like the Teen Choice Awards last Sunday.'

Not anymore, it seems.

Yesterday it was revealed that R-Patz has been hiding out at the sprawling Californian home of his Water For Elephants co-star Reese Witherspoon, in an effort to escape media attention, and work out what to do next.

Meanwhile, others say there could be a custody battle brewing… over Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's beloved dog, Bear.
