Our hearts can't take this much cuteness.

We've got a soft spot for the royal family's second littlest member. Princess Charlotte has just turned three years old today and she's made every royal appearance better since she joined Kate Middleton and Prince William's growing brood. With a gorgeous smile, signature little wave and occasionally a sulky face straight out of her older brother George's handbook, she's captured hearts across the world and with good reason.

While Kate Middleton usually snaps a photograph of Charlotte on her birthday, this year the royals have chosen not to release a new picture - presumably since she's all tied up with the birth of their newest child Prince Louis.

A royal expert also revealed to ELLE, 'William and Kate won't want to overexpose their children. They have never been entirely conventional so I imagine they might release a photo in their own time, and it might be one Kate takes herself. A photo to commemorate the new baby's birth is hardly excessive however, and I would say, for historical purposes, it is important for there to be one.'
