Kensington Palace, the home of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, has quietly joined the digital age

Hold the front page - Wills and Kate have finally entered the 21st century with (almost) personal Twitter and Instagram accounts.

With no public announcement, instagram.com/kensingtonroyal and twitter.com/kensingtonroyal officially started posting this week - but be warned - so far, so boring.

The first Instagram photo shared by our favourite royals features a grainy (they clearly haven't got the hang of filters yet) shot of St James Palace, with the caption: 'Prince Harry, joined by NBA All-star Carmelo Anthony, presented the first #Coachcore programme graduates with their certificates at St James's Palace today. #Coachcore is a programme developed by the #RoyalFoundation to train young people who are struggling to find positive prospects, to become professional sports coaches and mentors.'

Quickly followed by a shot of Prince Harry posing with retired NBA player Dikembe Mutombo and the caption: 'Prince Harry stands on tiptoes but still fails to measure up to retired NBA player Dikembe Mutombo who stands 7ft 2 inches tall at the #Coachcore graduation ceremony today. The NBA are supporting the #Royal'

We hope they catch on to our favourite Instagram pastimes of selfies, nights out with celebrity pals (we're looking at you here, Prince Harry) and cute pictures of Prince George.
