The first royal appearance in the Brit Awards' 30-year history, it's thought that the Prince will deliver a special video message at the ceremony.

Clarence House have confirmed Prince Harry's involvement, but have not said what sort of message he plans to deliver.

But insiders have said he is really keen to attend the ceremony in person, and has begged Army bosses for the night off.

He is currently attending an army helicopter training course.

It's no secret that the young royal is a fan of popular culture, and insiders say he is keen to be seen as an ambassador for British music.

Just last year, the Prince was spotted watching acts at Hyde Park's Wireless Festival.

And he was also spied in the audience at the X Factor finals with on-off girlfriend Chelsy Davy.

The Brit Awards take place next Tuesday 16th February, and will be shown on ITV from 8pm.
