She should be so lucky! The songstress donned her cap and gown to be awarded with the accolate at an Essex university
Look who it is! Kylie Minogue donned a colourful cap and gown at a University in Essex yesterday, to receive an honorary Doctor of Health Science Award.
Sparkling in her yellow and blue ensemble, the starlet – who battled breast cancer in 2005 – collected the special degree from Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford, in recognition for her work promoting breast cancer awareness.
‘I never went to university so my dad will be very proud when he sees the pictures,’ Kylie gushed during a speech to 200 of the University’s graduates.
‘I am here partly for the work I do promoting breast cancer awareness.
‘When you are diagnosed yourself it becomes a lot more real and you appreciate at first hand the hard work that goes on to support patients through it.’
Miss Minogue is one of a handful of Hollywood stars who have collected honorary degrees in the past.
Lord of the Rings actor Orlando Bloom and Sex and the City starlet Kim Cattrall were both given the special accolades earlier this year.
