Harry, Liam, Niall, Zayn and Louis made the announcement during a packed performance to 15,000 fans as part of NBC’s Today Show Toyota Concert Series in New York yesterday, where the group performed their hits Live While We’re Young and Little Things.

‘We are going to do our first-ever movie and it’s going to be in 3-D and it’s coming to cinemas near you on the 30th of August, 2013,' Niall said.

The group also thanked fans for all of their support, especially in light of the recent devastation caused by Superstorm Sandy in New York.

‘I think in spite of everything that happened, our thoughts and prayers are with everyone that’s been affected by Hurricane Sandy and to see everyone come out still when everything’s happened is absolutely amazing. It means so much to us,’ said Harry Styles.
