Just weeks after Nicole Scherzinger and Lewis Hamilton split, rumours emerged that the X Factor USA judge was dating host Steve Jones.

The X Factor pair were seen ‘holding hands’ and being flirty on the set, according to sources.

Since Lewis broke things off with Nicole, the 33-year-old star has been finding it hard to perform on the X Factor and perhaps host Steve Jones has been there to provide a little comfort and distraction.

SyCo producers asked Nicole and Steve to create some chemistry on screen to boost ratings, and told Steve he needed a ‘high-profile girlfriend’ to generate headlines.

And it seems the notorious Welsh womaniser has chosen the ex-Pussycat Doll as his candidate.

An insider told Heat magazine, ‘Steve’s got his own apartment, which Nicole’s been over to, and they seem to be virtually inseparable at the moment.'

But an X Factor USA spokesperson told the Metro newspaper, ‘The suggestion that Steve and Nicole are romantically involved is pure fiction. They are friends, that’s it.’

A spokeswoman for Scherzinger, said, ‘Nicole is not dating Steve. Jones’s spokeswoman declined to comment.
