Naomi attended the London premiere of her film, Diana, in Leicester Square Thursday evening dressed to impress in a slinky white Versace dress with cut-out detail, an asymmetric neckline and a dramatic thigh slit teamed with black accessories and dangling peacock earrings.

The new film, which co-stars Naveen Andrews as heart surgeon Hasnat Khan, claims to shed light on the relationship between the late Princess Diana and the doctor, but has already been met with criticism, with Khan recently telling a newspaper that the film is 'based on hypotheses and gossip' and critics saying it will be 'hurtful' to Princes William and Harry.

'I'll never know what they think because I don't know them. But if they see it, I hope they'll feel we've been respectful,' Naomi Watts told Sky News at last night's premiere.

When it came to tackling the part of Princess Diana, Naomi revealed:

'It was the biggest risk that one could possibly take and a huge challenge.

'I had a lot of hesitation about saying yes, but once I did I felt like it was an opportunity I couldn't refuse.'

Diana film director Oliver Hirschbiegel also hit back at early criticisms of the film ahead of the London premiere:

'The film is actually based on the accounts of several people, and the inquest in which there were hundreds of pages discussing their relationship.

'It is not a documentary but a dramatic interpretation. In a love story you have to create four or five dramatic scenes that make it work,' he told Sky News.
