Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their first child into the world on May 6, and the couple are already planning to expand their brood.

Speaking about their plans to have more children, a source close to the couple told PEOPLE: 'They definitely want to.'

However, the Duchess of Sussex reportedly only wants a total of two children.

The insider added: 'Meghan has talked about having one more.'

While Harry is also keen to have more kids.

The source said: 'Harry has wanted this family life for a while, and he’s going to love it. He’s always enthusiastic with children, and now he will have his own little world that he has dreamed of for a long time.'

Harry announced the news the former Suits actress had given birth earlier this week, and during the announcement he insisted their bundle of joy will make his first public appearance on Wednesday.

He said: ‘I’m so incredibly proud of my wife. And as every father and parent would say, your baby is absolutely amazing. But this little thing is absolutely to-die-for so I’m absolutely over the moon.

‘We will be seeing you in two days time as planned as a family to be able to share with you guys and so everyone can see the baby.’

The pair - who married last May - have had an exciting year so far, with the birth of their baby, as well as their move to Frogmore Cottage, although there has been talks they may relocate to Africa or America with their little one.
