  • Find out which unusual names the 'overjoyed' pair have chosen for their twins…

‘Overjoyed’ new parents Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have finally revealed the names of their newborn twins – Moroccan Scott Cannon and Monroe Cannon.

The happy couple welcomed the babies – one girl, one boy – into the world on their third wedding anniversary on Saturday, at 12:07 pm in at an exclusive medical centre in Los Angeles.

A spokesman for the pair confirmed they were ‘overjoyed’ with the tiny new arrivals, which weighed in at 5 lbs 3 oz and 5 lbs 6 oz respectively.

Mariah and Nick have kept us guessing over what they had chosen to name their two new bundles of joy – just hinting that their new monikers would both begin with M.

But today the couple have confirmed the unusual names, as Monroe Cannon – after Marilyn Monroe, and Moroccan Scott Cannon, using Nick’s middle name.

It’s thought Mariah’s hubby proposed in the Moroccan-themed top tier of their New York apartment, which could have led them to choose the unusual title.

‘It has been a long, emotional journey for this family, and I couldn’t be happier for all of them,’ spokesman for the couple told CNN.
