Madonna pays Guy Ritchie ground-breaking £50 million divorce settlement
Madonna is set to pay Guy Ritchie £50 million in a divorce settlement that will smash Britain's current biggest payout.
The Material Girl's spokeswoman, Liz Rosenburg, said she has agreed to give Ritchie between £50 million and £60 million, which includes a lump sum of £20 million, their £20 million Ashcombe country estate in Wiltshire, and Guy's favourite hangout, the Punchbowl pub in Mayfair.
Madonna – who is worth an estimated £450 million – has beaten Sir Paul McCartney's £24.3 million settlement, which he paid out to his ex-wife Heather Mills earlier this year.
'I'd assume it's one of the largest payouts ever in a divorce settlement,' Rosenburg agreed.
It was rumoured that Ritchie wasn't interested in his former wife's money, but the director, who has his own £23 million personal fortune, was entitled to half the 50-year-old singer's earnings since they married in 2000.
Divorce lawyer Vanessa Lloyd Platt told the Metro: 'He's got quite a good settlement but he could have got a far higher settlement if he really pushed it.'
