'I was like, 'Whose number is this?''

They say every man is an island unto himself and one Love Island contestant seems to be taking that quote to heart. After feuding with her co-star Megan Barton Hanson, it’s been revealed that Georgia Steel has called it quits from the show’s group WhatsApp and it’s not going down terribly well. If you’ve ever had a friend unceremoniously depart from a group chat with no explanation, you’ll know that it’s easily one of the most awkward situations ever.

Things started off relatively chill during an interview with Digital Spy, where Rosie Williams, Hayley Hughes and Samira Mighty all chatted about some post-show goss. As they spitballed and reflected on their time on the show, they also touched on the current Love Island 2018 state of the union and the subject of their joint WhatsApp group came up.

Rosie started off the WhatsApp chat saying, ‘Josh [Denzel] got added just now, actually.’

Samira dished, ‘Georgia left the group...I was like, ‘Whose number is this?’’

‘Yeah, she’s left the group,’ Rosie confirmed. ‘I don’t know why.’

DRAMA. Well, it wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine why Georgia would have left given that she and her former co-star Megan seem to be in a bit of a feud - The Mirror has previously reported that Georgia said Megan is ‘fake’ and finds Georgia ‘annoying’. Before that, Georgia was also criticised for not being as loyal as she made herself out to be on the show after macking on Jack Fowler.

Georgia’s mother provided a little bit of insight to the Daily Mail, saying, ‘One of the worst moments for me was when all of the girls went against [Georgia] and called her a liar. That was bullying. I was so upset, I paced around my living room, up and down past the coffee table, and I was crying.’

Apparently Georgia isn't the only one to have vanished into thin air, as her boyfriend Sam Bird also exited the WhatsApp group. However his is much less dramatic and more hilarious, as it turns out that his was a technology-related blip.

Frankie revealed to The Mirror, 'I think it was an accident. Sam joined back in and said 's*** I left the wrong group.'

He continued, 'Sam and Gee both left and I think Sam just left the wrong group. There's so much going on in that group you lose track.'

Given that the entire cast will be meeting up for Love Island: The Reunion this Sunday evening, things could definitely get interesting between the former cast mates.

I mean to be honest, we’re not going to blame Georgia if she left what essentially sounds like a work WhatsApp group. We can only imagine the notifications have been off the charts, now that the stars finally have access to their phones again...
