Elizabeth Hurley more of a ‘boss than a wife’, say reports

The fizz is going flat in Elizabeth Hurley’s marriage to Arun Nayar, according to new reports.

In the two years since their lavish wedding, friends say the couple are increasingly growing apart – with Hurley’s close friendship to ex Hugh Grant, her career goals, and her constant wish to have her own way all being cited as possible problems.

According to the Daily Mail, when the pair first started dating, Nayar found Hurley’s showbiz lifestyle exciting, but is now said to find it ‘rather tedious’.

But the biggest issue? Hurley’s close friendship to Grant. Nayar was apparently frustrated that he was unable to join Hurley, Grant, and her six-year-old son Damian at the start of a holiday in December because of his business commitments.

Hurley, 43, and Grant, 48, were spotted on 15 December 2008 playing happy families with Damian at the Cotton House Hotel on the West Indian island of Mustique, with Nayar joining them later.

Friends have also suggested Nayar is irritated by Hurley's increasing wish to have her own way.

One source said: 'She's more like a boss than a wife.

'Arun often feels like rather than being in first flush of love, he is stuck with a wife who can be cold, pushy and bossy.'

Hurley's career goals are also said to be causing friction – particularly her decision to set up an organic farm, which will be filmed for a TV series.

'Arun is from a moneyed background,' said a friend.

'He sees the idea of some reality show about her organic farm business as rather naff.'
