Leonardo DiCaprio introduces girlfriend Erin Heatherton to his mum

Are things getting serious with Leo and his Victoria's Secret model girlfriend?

It seems Leonardo DiCaprio's mum casts the deciding vote on whether he dates someone new, and now the Hollywood hearthrob has taken his new girlfriend, Erin Heatherton, to see if she gets the parental seal of approval.

The actor's mum recently said his ex, Blake Lively, was no good for Leo, and soon after the Inception star split with the Gossip Girl beauty after five months of dating.

But it seems things may be better for Victoria's Secret model Erin Heatherton, who was reported to be seen laughing and joking with Leo's mum, Irmelin.

DiCaprio began dating the blonde supermodel a month ago and the couple were said to have spent time with his mother over the Christmas holidays.

An insider, who spotted them together at the Four Seasons hotel in LA on New Year's Day, told the New York Post: 'The meeting went well and mum and Erin were seen laughing. Leo and Erin seemed really happy.'

After his split from Blake LIvely, Leonardo was linked to a string of other models, including Australia's Next Top Model contestant Alyce Crawford and catwalk beauty Kendal Schuler.
