Lea Michele's Glee journey is set to continue on past the emotional finale, as a spin-off series is confirmed for the star.
Glee creator Ryan Murphy has announced the news in a recent interview, following his decision to end the main series after the untimely death of Lea’s off-screen boyfriend, Cory Monteith, who played Finn Hudson in the hit show.
Talking about a spin-off show for Lea’s character, Rachel Berry, Ryan told RadarOnline: “This is definitely happening. This will be announced soon.
“They’re making the deals now and it also presents a viable exit plan for the main Glee series itself – in that some of its core cast would also migrate to the Lea Michele project as Glee is showing signs of aging.”
Lea has remained extremely close to her Glee co-stars since Cory's death in July, which was caused by a lethal cocktail of heroin and alcohol.
Speaking out for the first time after his death, Lea said: "I feel like, for me personally, I’ve lost two people: Cory and Finn.

"There was no greater man than Cory, so for the time we spent together I consider myself very lucky.
"Everyone is asking: ‘Is it hard to do this? Is it hard to be back at work?’, but the truth is it’s no harder at work than it is in life so we might as well all be together as a family supporting each other to get through this together."
Lea has showed incredible strength throughout such a tough year, and we couldn't be happier for her.
