Keira Knightley may be one of the hottest ever arrivals in Hollywood but her career is hot property too – after all she is the go-to star for all powerful period drama parts. But the star tells us she doesn’t quite see her achievements in the same way…

As she graces the cover of the May issue of Marie Claire, Keira Knightley appears to have it all, she’s breathtakingly beautiful and has an incredible career, not that she believes it. The British actress tells us: ‘My career is on the verge of being ridiculous – it’s all smoke and mirrors.’

She may say that but there’s nothing blurry about Keira Knightley’s achievements, having hit the blockbuster big time in Pirates of the Caribbean she’s worked consistently ever since.

As we spoke with Keira she revealed how she’s struggled to come to terms with life as a famous actress, in 2008 she was close to quitting the business but instead took a break and traveled through Europe.

Speaking of the somewhat soul-searching time she tells us: ‘What do I want to do? What is this? I’d hit a brick wall. If you’re going from film set to film set, you’re not having any real experiences, you are just regurgitating the same stuff.’

Refreshingly, being real is something Keira Knightley most certianly is!
