As Katherine Jenkins receives death threats over David Beckham affair rumours
Katherine Jenkins surprised fans, not to mention the Beckhams, when she discussed rumours of an affair with the married footballer on Twitter last week. And now David Beckham has also been forced to deny that an alleged affair ever took place.
Victoria Beckham was apparently left ‘devastated’ after Katherine Jenkins took to Twitter to address the rumours that she had enjoyed an affair with footballer David.
Katherine told fans: ‘Dear Twitter friends, I’ve read some horrible rumours on here & want u 2 know I absolutely deny I’ve had an affair with David Beckham.
‘The rumours are very hurtful, untrue & my lawyers tell me actionable.
‘I’ve only met David twice: once at the Military Awards in 2010 & on a night out in the West End in Feb 2012.
‘We were out in a group of friends & it was just a normal fun evening out.’
Before adding: ‘Just so we are clear I have never been on my own with him and never arranged to meet up.’
The post apparently came as something of a surprise to the Beckham household, who were then forced to deny the rumours too.
A representative for David said: ‘Unfortunately, we have to deal with this type of nonsense on Twitter.’
‘One minute David is dead, then the more scurrilous rumours, there is no truth to any of it.’
Apparently Jenkins, 32, has been receiving death threats for months over the rumours of an affair with David Beckham, hence the reason she chose to speak out on Twitter even though the majority of the public weren’t aware of the gossip.
The opera singer’s spokesperson added: ‘The rumours of Katherine and David Beckham having an affair are 100 per cent false.
‘Katherine has endured months of abusive tweets and messages accusing her of having an affair with David Beckham.
‘Some going as far as threatening her life. She simply felt that she could not deal with this any longer and so had to face these ridiculous rumours head on which is why she had to speak out.
‘With regards to the death threats, these have been reported to the police who are taking the matter very seriously.’
